Metro "Whale of a Sale" Campaign #1

Metro Department Stores "Whale of a Sale" was a blockbuster annual event as big as Black Friday in the US. It was supported by a carpet bombing campaign in print, on air, out of home and in-store, all geared to generating excitement and ringing the tills. Even shoppers from the surrounding region flew in by the planeloads to grab the bargains on offer! The window displays were too big to miss. Huge banners scream from the mall facades. Special buses to facilitate store accessibility.  Print ads to spread the word. In-store mobiles to generate excitement.  TV slides and radio spots to amplify the sales messages. This is another iteration of Metro's blockbuster shopping event that was mounted annually. Campaign planning on the creative front started with conceptualising print ads, storefront banners, in-store mobiles, price cards, contest forms, posters and other collaterals. Full page print ad. Fighting the Great Stagflation: Metro Price Fighters & Weekly Knockouts

During the great stagflation era stricken by economic stagnation and price inflation, Metro offered some relief with a plethora of value-packed goods under the Price Fighter Campaign , backed by Weekly Knockouts on staples. Finished ads were published in major dailies, and point of sale material displayed widely to drum up bargain hunting excitement.
