The Cathay Restaurant in Cathay Building is renowned for its cosmopolitan clientele so we created the slogan "The food is Chinese, the mood... international!" as its service positioning in the Chinese restaurant market. A few years later the owners entered the burgeoning suburban dining market with the launch of the Kelong Thomson Restaurant, which was positioned as a family restaurant with a homely ambience. Serving fresh caught seafood epitomised by the name and the golden kelong bas relief mural, we gave it the slogan "Where the seafood sizzles!" as in its famed barbecued seafood basket.  The Kelong Thomson Restaurant in Thomson Plaza was presented in the ads as having a family flavour and where the seafood sizzles on the barbecue pits.  Dim Sum is served for lunch. Seasonal treats like hand-made pandan moon cakes are a specialty  on the menu during the Eighth Moon Festival.
