Two models of Silver Match Lighters were featured, the disposable and the luxury versions. For the disposable lighter the slogan "When only the light counts" emphased the utilitarian and low price. The luxury version appealed to what every smoker needs, i.e. instant lightup every time. 3M silver reflective material used for the gadget image added to its status symbolism.
